Trying to keep it simple.

Lioness

For my experimental ident animation I wanted to use oil pastel. Taking note of what I wanted it to say about me I decided to use strong imagery of a lioness. I have a complex personality and felt that this encapsulates key features by which I live my life.

Ferocity, caring, pride, loyalty, strong willed and leader.

Background

 Using different colours, light sources and mediums make the final images have very district styles. I enjoy using colour most of all but in this case the monochrome image has to be my favourite as of its clear purpose and simplicity.

Trying to use some chalks to distinguish light from dark.

Character design

We've been asked to create a piece of animation for an app. Which will promote cornwall through 12 traditional tales, ours is "Copper for cake". A cautionary tale about the knockers of south east Cornwall's copper mines.

Here are the drawing I did last night. A negative space one, some quick studies, a longer study and two medium length studies.

Merida is back!!

Once again drawing my favourite Disney princess! But this time I used acrylic paint and biro. Trying something different helped me get out of the copic rut!

Kalos (beautiful)

Me and my friends had a midnight drawing session, where we created witches as well many other fantastical characters. My challenge was to draw a male witch, as I always seem to draw women. I think he turned out ok, still a little soft but I guess thats my style.

Pokemon!

Me and my friend did a collaborative piece, us as pokemon trainers with our favourite pokemon. She drew the initial sketch and I changed it using my own personal style. I used copies and pencil as usual.

Lucrezia Borgia

Did the line art for this a while ago but wanted to colour it, spent a long time on the skin and needed a break, will be finishing it off soon, hopefully!!

E4 sting!!

As a mini project we were asked to create an animatic for an E4 sting, heres my take on the brief.

Lost Pirate Treasure

A short animatic using music from the Black Bones, which fitted the piece perfectly, thanks to my wonderful voice actors too! I used flash and premier pro, as well as photoshop to do any editing.

Life Drawing

Only really happy with this one study but I like it's varied outline and the shading on the face, may use that technique again as it's an easy way to define the facial features.

Wood Elf

My scanners broken but I just finnished this so took a photo with my phone hopefully will be able to fix it and re-upload it!
