In this I was experimenting with my copics, seeing how they could be used to create a more watercolour look. As well as seeing how far I could push this medium in its conventional use.

More old artwork . . .
In this I was experimenting with my copics, seeing how they could be used to create a more watercolour look. As well as seeing how far I could push this medium in its conventional use.
Archer
This is one of my best pieces, I studied an image from a LARPing website but changed up the colour scheme and added my own style to the face as usual.
Claymore-Teresa
My favourite character from one of my favourite animus, never read the manga but looks really good! The head seems a little disjointed but I still like how I attempted to colour this one.

Storyboarding
For a mini assignment we were given the task to create a storyboard where two object/characters meet, both of which are traveling at differing speeds. I had an idea originally but it changed as i sketched out the scene, this made it less structured but more naturalistic.

Final Merida?
Last one, for now, of Merida. I wanted to do a close up and have her hair frame her face. The angle was quite difficult but I think I pulled it off. I'm happy with this picture and I like the style the hair gives to the overall look.

More Merida!

Life drawing
These are my first attempts at life drawing this year, I'd like to see much improvement over the coming sessions. The first image is five one minute sketches, the next a lengthier piece on sugar paper using a chalk as well as charcoal and finally a more abstract study in charcoal.
Queen Elinor!
As promised, Elinor. I sadly couldn't include the pattern on her dress as it would need to be a much larger image to get the detail needed. The pattern reminds me of klimt's paintings, it adds a lot of detail to a somewhat simple dress. After spending a year on a project about how the Pre-Raphaelites interpreted Arthurian Legend, I find the clothing in the style of that period much easier than modern clothing. I love drawing/colouring skin, hair and flowing fabric so Elinor is one of my favourite characters to draw.

Merida!

My favourite Disney Princess, Merida. Once again using copics, a HB pencil and a white gel pen to colour. This took a little longer to colour than I was expecting, the hair took almost 3 hours. I'll be drawing/colouring Elinor in the same way as practicing the style so I can include them in a short storyboard project I'm planning on doing.

Messy inking
I wanted to do something different. Using ink isn't something I do very often so need to practice more. I did use watercolour to add some much needed colour. I kept getting ink drips and splats so added more using watercolour as it is easier to create the look desired.
